DSI started its formal operations on March 29, 1993, a few years after being affiliated with the well-respected firm, R. Coyuito Securities Inc. The company is currently headed by a triumvirate of motivated people: Jose Ricardo C. Garcia, its President after succeeding Ramon C. Garcia Jr. who moved on to create Diversified Financial Network Inc., Charina G. Garcia, Executive Vice President and Operations Head, and Susana Panaligan, Vice President for Finance. Diversified Securities Inc., staffed by young and dynamic employees, aims to provide quick and reliable service in line with its main focus of ensuring total customer satisfaction. DSI was one of the first stock brokerage firms in the country to computerize its accounting and back office systems, and the company continuously strives to improve its services by integrating technology into its brokerage operations. In April 1999, not wanting to be left behind by the internet revolution, DSI was one of the pioneers in the domestic equities market to offer secure, online trading to its customers through its internet-based service called Dtrade. Dtrade not only allows the company to expand its retail customer base, but it offers its existing customers the ability to trade from any location. In its efforts to reach out to a wider retail base, DSI maintains one provincial branch, in Naga, Bicol. In addition to targeting retail accounts and customers, the company also aims to tap overseas Filipino investors who want to invest their hard-earned money back into the country. The company is a member of the Philippine Association of Securities Brokers and Dealers, Inc. and the Security Investors Protection Fund. Diversified Securities is also a contributor to the Clearing and Trade Guarantees Fund. The company has an authorized capital of P20 million with paid-in capital of P20 million. |
